Secrets and Surprises of the Adelaide Hills

Colonel Light, founder of the city of Adelaide, once referred to the Mount Lofty Ranges as 'The Enchanted Hills'. Today, we will take you to the Hills and unfold some of their secrets and surprises. Your tour could include:

  • A visit to Jurlique Herb Farm for a private tour with a specialist guide through the stunning herb beds to discover how this internationally acclaimed company produces and uses herbs in their natural skincare products. Smell the intense perfume from the herbs as they are dried in the sheds and enjoy time sampling their products. 

  • A private tour of The Cedars - home and studio of the late Sir Hans Heysen, one of Australia's finest landscape artists. This gracious "State Treasure" has remained unchanged since the 1930's and has the air of a bygone era .The comprehensive collection of Heysen's work hanging on the walls in every room compliments the wonderful antique furniture in the home. 

  • Time in Hahndorf - historic German township where the Main Street is lined with a plethora of shops and galleries for you to browse through and enjoy.

  • Superb Adelaide Hills lunch including fine local produce and a glass of wine

Wine Tour Of The Barossa Valley Barossa Valley

Barossa Valley- Australia's biggest quality-wine district - is known as the powerhouse of wine in Australia, where the traditional methods of the old are so well combined with new technology. Names such as Penfolds, Jacob's Creek, Seppelt, Wolf Blass, Yalumba, and Peter Lehmann all have their headquarters here in the Barossa. The rich European heritage with the wonderful buildings and vineyards wait to greet you. Highlights can include:

  • An informative private tasting at Peter Lehmanns Wines to taste the wines that made them International Winemaker of the Year and Australian Wine Producer of the Year at the 2003 International Wine and Spirit Competition, London. Sample their premium wines with the opportunity to discuss your tastings with qualified, knowledgeable winery staff. 

  • Maggie Beers Farmshop to taste the range of seasonal treats of the region in a beautiful setting, perched on the side of a huge dam surrounded by vines and olives founded by Maggie Beer, cook, writer and owner of Maggie Beer products 

  • Lunch in a winery setting where you can savour the region's distinctive cuisine 

  • A visit to Kabminye or St Hallet's - a small winery that offers warmth and hospitality in restored 1850s buildings. They produce a range of premium traditional Australian wines. 

  • A visit to Yalumba or Seppeltsfield to see the awe inspiring heritage buildings and sample the wines of these two "big" names in the industry

Kangaroo Island
